The West Bengal College Service Commission conducts the State Eligibility Test every year to ascertain the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in West Bengal. The eligibility for Assistant Professor will based on the performance of the aspirants in both the papers of SET in aggregate. Candidates declared successful in the SET for eligibility for Assistant Professor will be governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professor in West Bengal.

West Bengal SET Cut Off 2024
The number of test-takers to be qualified (total slots) for the WB SET exam shall be equal to 6% of the aspirants who appeared in both the papers of SET. The allotment of total slots to different categories will be made according to the reservation policy of the Government of West Bengal.
To qualify in the exam, the candidate will have to appear in both the papers and obtain at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for General (Unreserved) category/EWS candidates and a minimum of 35% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for all reserved categories candidates [SC, ST, OBC (belonging to Non-Creamy Layer)/PWD] and Transgender.
What Next After Result?
After the declaration of the WB SET Result 2024, the marks of all the candidates will be uploaded on the WBCSC website. Additionally, WBCSC will not issue any marks sheet to qualified/non-qualified aspirants. The passing certificates will be issued to all the qualified aspirants who will be notified in due course. Aspirants must note that the record of the SET exam will be retained up to 90 days from the date of release of the result.
