SBI Junior Associate Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 20 to 28 years of age as of April 1, 2024. Additionally, the SBI Clerk age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories:

• PWD (General/EWS): 10 years
• PWD (OBC): 13 years
• PWD (SC/ST): 15 years
• Persons domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir during the period from January 1, 1980, to December 31, 1989: 5 years

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
• Final-year students can apply but must provide proof of graduation by December 31, 2024.
• A minimum of 60% marks in graduation is often preferred, though specific requirements may vary.

Domicile

• Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for the SBI Junior Associate position.
• There may be specific domicile requirements for certain reserved categories, particularly for candidates from Jammu & Kashmir.

SBI JA Selection Process

To secure a position in the Clerical Cadre through the SBI Clerk (Junior Associates) 2024 exam, candidates must successfully navigate two critical phases: the SBI Clerk Prelims and the SBI Clerk Mains exam. It is essential for all candidates to clear both phases to receive an appointment letter from SBI. Notably, there is no provision for Inter Circle or Inter State Transfers for Junior Associates once recruited.

Additionally, trained apprentices of SBI may receive a competitive advantage in the Main Examination, as they will be awarded 2.5% of the maximum marks (equivalent to 5 marks out of 200) as bonus marks, enhancing their overall score.
